The first step in buying a home in a residential park is for you decide that this accommodation and environment will suit you and that you will be happy.
Do your research to find a park (internal link back to park search feature) in the area or town of your choice which provides the facilities that you would like. It is recommended that you take the time to visit the parks that you have short-listed to see how they are maintained, the quality of the houses, condition of the facilities provided and most importantly, as you walk around, talk to a few residents to ascertain the community feel and friendliness of the residents living there.
Before you start looking for your “new” home, take the time to decide on your purchase budget. This may sound obvious, but over the years, I have had prospective purchases arrange an inspection without having considered this. There is no point spending time looking at homes that are well outside what you can afford or conversely looking at lower priced homes when you want to purchase a more modern home.
When you consider that you have found the right park, and set your budget, it is time to find your home (internal link back to homes for sale search feature).
There is a considerable range of homes and price, from older caravans with insulated panel annexes to very modern and upmarket homes that compete with a traditional bricks and mortar home.
